This individual believes that it is unethical for one group of people to coerce money from some to give to other people in the form of "grants", "loans", "entitlements", or whatever;
That employing one group of people to dig holes and another group to fill them will not improve the human condition, and that using bulldozers and backhoes to dig and fill the holes, thus creating jobs for those at GM and Caterpillar, will not add to efficiencies or improve the human economic condition, either.
He further believes that since the US has a huge Department of Homeland security to protect it, that using the US Foreign Legion- the Air Force, Arrny, Navy, and Marines- to dig and fill holes , with or without heavy machinery, or to practice war with or without the heavy machinery built by GM. Grumman, etc. etc., will not improve the human condition, even though these hundreds of billiions of dollars of economic activity are counted as part of the US GDP. As with the hole-digging example, if everyone were involved with the military, everyone would eventually starve to death, and the more who are involved with the military, the less food and consumer goods are available per capita.
This is an important point: The funding of land mine development and manufacture, for example, which has but one purpose, to maim or kill people, even though it has an alleged "multiplier effect" of employing engineers, laborers, etc., does not, economically, improve the human condition, but actually diminishes the human condition by wasting human effort. YET, THIS WASTE OF HUMAN EFFORT IS CALCULATED AS A POSITIVE WHEN DETERMINING US GDP.
I believe that having an articulate black president is a great thing for race relations both in central North America and in the rest of the world, but that the government of the US is FUBAR. This much I believe.
